Annual Assembly Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

The AAPM&R annual assembly will host over 3000 PM&R physicians and will offer exceptional educational programming, innovative learning opportunities, non-stop networking opportunities, and the latest updates in PM&R research. This year’s assembly will have more educational opportunities than before, with over 150 sessions scheduled across 12 clinical and practice areas.

Following the AAPM&R President’s launch, the program will commence with a series of speakers, focussing around relevant industry themes, such as technology and radical collaboration. This theme will be discussed by Mick Ebeling, founder and CEO of Not Impossible Labs, and author of and author of Not Impossible: The Art and Joy of Doing What Couldn’t Be Done. As the theme suggests, Not Impossible, has a history of tackling the “impossible” projects, with the world’s first 3D-printing prosthetic lab and training facility – with key tips on collaboration, this session is not to be missed!

Following Ebeling’s talk, a full program of expert speakers will share their extensive knowledge on technological developments and capabilities for rehabilitation, leadership enhancement strategies, and improving patient care within rehabilitation.

This year, new additions include expanded pre-conference courses, from specific skill sessions, such as a two-day Ultrasound Clinical Applications of the Extremities, to a course on Bold Leadership Strategies and Tools for Today’s Health Care Environment. The courses will help physiatrists to augment or renew their career paths, and develop their skills at leadership in health care systems and developing networks.

For first-time attendees to the conference, a welcome orientation will be held on Thursday, October 12 from 7:15 am-8 am, which will help you to map out your assembly experience. There is also an Annual Assembly app which is a simple way to access the week’s schedule, also allowing you to search for and connect with other assembly attendees through the app’s messaging function.
